"Chokehold"

Power rarely announces itself as a threat. More often, it arrives as pleasure, distraction or desire. The fire does not burn indiscriminately -- it warms, glows and entices. The restraints are subtle enough to be mistaken for ornament or ignored entirely. Some will see them and dismiss them. Others will not see them at all. This work explores the kind of control that does not rely on force, but on consent without awareness. That is the danger. 
The hand is not a guide or a protector. It offers nothing freely. It holds because it can, and most people do not notice when holding becomes captivity. 
Only those who look closely will understand what is being asked of them -- and what it costs.
